Critical Acclaim -

"Arden’s Midsummer Night’s Dream gets the delight right!"
- The Philadelphia Inquirer Read more here

"A Midsummer Night's Dream is a giddy comedy produced so often around the country you'd think no one could find anything new in it. But that's the magic of great theater — I've seen that play more times than I can remember, yet never like the Arden show that Matt Pfeiffer inventively directs. It's full of original music the cast plays and sings, sophisticated comic interpretations and high-level physicality. Plus, a ton of smooching. Mary Tuomanen leads with her spunky, irresistible portrayal of the sprite Puck, and everyone has a great time bringing the play alive.”

"It never ceases to amaze me that Shakespeare's great comedies can still be so utterly hilarious more 400 years after he wrote them. Thanks to a strong cast, the Arden's current production of A Midsummer Night's Dream is as fantastically funny as ever."

"Do yourself a favor and transport yourself to the Arden Theatre and enter the world of William Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream. This wonderful production, under the direction of Matt Pfeiffer, is beautiful and enchanting."
- Theatre Sensation Read more here

"The result is a relentlessly engaging production. The Arden Theatre Company’s Midsummer Night’s Dream is both contemporary and Elizabethan, musical and comedic, faithful and unpredictable: the match of Shakespeare’s creativity with considerable modern talent."
- PlayShakespeare Read more here

"The Arden’s Midsummer glows with a sense of love in all its forms – innocent, irrational, brotherly, unwavering."
- DC Metro Arts Read more here

"Ultimately, this Midsummer Night's Dream not only tells a brisk tale about love and magic in romantic encounters, but also reveals the love and magic of producing theater."
- Broad Street Review Read more here

“It’s accessible without being dumbed down. Shakespeare’s poetry rolls naturally, his characters are alive, his comedy true. Done right, he’s pretty good.”
