Internships

Arden Theatre Company internships are designed to provide insight and hands-on experience for a specific technical or administrative area of the theatre. We offer several types of internships on a rolling basis.

Internships are non-paid positions and we do not provide housing. Time commitment is decided on a case by case basis, although part-time internships average about 20 hours per week.


Fall Semester Props Intern
Arden Theatre Company, a leading non-profit regional theatre, is seeking a Props Interns for the fall semester of the 2017/2018 Season. Semester dates September - December. Schedule is negotiable. Interns can expect to work 15-20 hours per week. Responsibilities will include crafts, basic carpentry, painting, basic sewing, shopping and set dressing. Fall Semester Costume Intern
Arden Theatre Company, a leading non-profit regional theatre, is seeking a Costume Intern for the fall semester of the 2017/2018 Season. Semester dates September - December. Schedule is negotiable. Interns can expect to work 15-20 hours per week. Responsibilities will include crafts, basic sewing, assisting with fittings, restocking costumes, pulling costume for rehearsal and show purposes, shopping and alterations. Arden Theatre Company is seeking a Set Construction Intern for the fall semester of the 2017/2018 Season. Semester dates September - December. Schedule is negotiable. Schedule is negotiable. Development and Special Events Internship – Summer 2017
Arden Theatre Company is seeking a Development and Special Events Intern for the Summer of 2017. The objective of this internship is to provide an opportunity for hands-on experience and an introduction to the operations of development and fundraising at a nonprofit theatre company. Responsibilities will include: assisting with mailings, filing and various administrative support for the development department; drafting correspondence including thank you letters, responding to donor inquiries and preparing funding requests; data entry in the Audience View database; assisting with executing fundraising events and cultivation events; assisting with funder and donor research.

Qualifications: Microsoft Office skills are required, often using mail merge function and Excel; database experience a plus; must be proactive, self-directed, detail-oriented and organized; must possess strong inter-personal skills and excellent phone skills; must possess capacity to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team; excellent verbal and written skills; an interest in the local arts and cultural community.
